Fall semester have officially started – womp, womp.
I know all my fellow college students are no where ready to kiss goodbye the wild summer nights and certainly not looking forward to research papers, mid-terms, finals and juggling 3 to 4 classes.
This may come as a shocker being I’m a style blogger but on days when I have to trudge the campus grounds one will see me with no make-up on, in a pair of jeans and wearing a t-shirt or tank top – oh and flats!
Although I must admit when I was a freshmen I would wear heels – ha, totally laughable now.
I vividly remember wearing a pair of heels my freshman year. I didn’t just stumble or trip in my heels but I rolled down an entire flight of stairs.
The time of day, early afternoon, a super busy time on campus.
The location, a GSU building, I walked in the building past several students in the lobby area waiting for the GSU shuttle and strutted towards the stairs, legit top model style – in my mind.
One step, two step then it happened my trick ankle, my right foot gave out on me. I lost my balance, plummeted to the ground and fumbled down the steps.
I recall a very rude black girl who burst out into a loud laughter as she walked past and a kind Asian guy with a heavy accent who rushed to my aid.
No sooner than I collected myself I quickly walked straight ahead to the nearby restroom, my body warm out of embarrassment and I stayed in that restroom for a good 30 minutes.
Long story short I would never wear heels again to school – I’m scarred for life.
Until next time…sandals, loose-fitting shorts, crop top and a blazer for the chilly classrooms – simple, cute and comfy ~~>great for back to college
Let’s talk! I would love to hear from you, comment below.
